Feature

■ Check moisture as easily as using electric tester

In order to measure water content in a material, there used to be dry weight method which the heat of infrared was required, and near-infrared ray method which its wavelength was a parameter. Dry weight method took long measurement time and near-infrared ray method was expensive.

There are some moisture meters measuring electric resistance to display moisture value relatively calculated from electrical conductivity. However, users can not modify the value corresponding to density or shape of the object in most cases. SK-940A has changed such characteristic of moisture meters and enables easy and accurate measurement.

■ Easy—All you do is to let the sensor touch objects.

■ Quick—Pressing the key finishes measurement.

■ Accurate—Five user's ranges* are settable other than the standard range. Average values can also be displayed.

* User's ranges: a function which users can modify the displayed value by increasing or decreasing the displayed value from the standard range. You can freely set it in both a low moisture region to a high moisture region.

■ Five types of sensors are selectable to meet your various requirements.

You cannot disconnect the sensor and the main body.

■ You cannot disconnect the sensor and the main body.

■ Note before use

- Granular or powdery objects cannot be measured.

- Measured values may vary depending on the pressure you give the object through the sensor. Therefore be sure to maintain the same pressure against all objects during the measurement.

- Automatic temperature compensation is activated as long as the temperature of the device is in 5 to 40°C. However, the measurement error will be enlarged if the temperatures of the object and SK-940A are different. Wait until the temperature difference vanishes.

■ Notice

SK-940A measures electrical resistance between two electrodes and displays it as a moisture value. If the object contains electrically conductive materials, such as salt and metal, measured values may differ from actual moisture content. However, even when conductive material is included in the object, if the amount of such material is relatively small so that it doesn't affect to moisture value, and it is evenly distributed, the measured data will be reliable enough for comparison.
